General Thinker
Remo Birthday Special: FREE General Thinker Book for ALL Subscribers
Today (the 25th of April) is my birthday (66, not out) – but this time around you score the gift: a FREE copy of my 2014 visual memoir General Thinker – available (only until the end of April) to any of you, my dear Substack subscribers: free, paid or patron.
About General Thinker
REMORANDOM was born as a REMO storytelling/publishing spinoff in 2023. However, the templated design format for the printed book spreads (450 words to the left, accompanying images to the right) is quite a bit older – dating back to 2014. That was the year I self-published, with help from prescient Blurb Founder and CEO Eileen Gittins, an autobiographical book called General Thinker.
The title was a reference to both my experience creating and building the REMO General Store (since 1988) and “General Thinking” – a network of people doing good and interesting work in the world that I have been gathering together since 2001.
General Thinker is a visual memoir of 90 interwoven stories that examines the experiences, both great successes and brilliant failures [Ed: plenty of the latter] that had guided and shaped me along the way – at least up until that point.
It’s a book about work. It’s a book about love. It’s about me, but also about all of us.
I reckon you might find it interesting. Here are some sample spreads:

General Thinker was also selected for distribution to TED Book Club members in 2015; so I know that it’s sitting in the bookshelves of around 1,300 people who were at the top of the biz/tech/culture pyramid about 10 years ago. Hello Jeff Bezos :)
To redeem your FREE copy of General Thinker, go HERE before the end of April 2026, add the book to your shopping cart and enter the checkout code GTAPRIL.
All you’ll pay is the postage. As much as it would be greatly appreciated, you don’t need to order anything else to trigger the freebie. No strings.

Cheers,
Remo
